Create Gradient Swatch: Click the Dropdown in the top right corner of Swatch Window and select “New Gradient Swatch”. Name the swatch. Click OK

Adjust Gradient Settings: Click on the gradient stops on slider at the bottom to adjust the gradient colors and direction. Additional stops say be added to create the desired effect.

This works great, but can sometimes cause weird shifts in color in the gradient and harder to get a consistent color along the gradient. To create a more consistent gradient between two shades of the same color, then it’s best to use tints of that color.

Create Spot Color Tints: Select the darker color of the gradient. Click the hamburger icon in Swatch panel. Name the Swatch and select Spot Color as Color Type. Click OK.

Create Spot Color Tints: With the Swatch just created selected, click the hamburger icon in Swatch panel. Name the Swatch and select Spot Color as Color Type. Click OK.
